I am a biochemist with experiences spanning cardiac and skeletal muscle physiology, RNA and protein biology, chemical engineering, and transfusion medicine. My current focus lies at the intersection of skeletal muscle physiology and post-transcriptional regulation. Through my career, I've had the privilege of collaborating with diverse teams of engineers, scientists, and clinicians to develop integrative approaches to answering scientific questions. My work has established strong collaborative networks, and my mentoring of >30 trainees underscores a commitment to fostering the next generation of scientists. I am highly driven with strong communication skills as demonstrated by a track record of scientific presentation, publication, and the funding of individual research proposals. With each team, it has been my mission to relay complex findings effectively, contributing to our shared mission of advancing scientific understanding and innovation. Equipped with a strong background in personnel/project management and mentorship, I am driven to marry my interdisciplinary training and soft skillset to streamline bench-to-bedside therapeutic development. As a first-generation student and scientist, I am also passionate about clear scientific communication with non-experts, as I believe equitable access to knowledge is requisite to multifaceted progress. Always happy to talk science.
