Outreach & Data Collection Technician
I have been tasked with researching multiple topics related to law enforcement interaction with their communities. In addition, I contact police departments across the country to discuss CPE's National Justice Database, ensure open lines of communication, and to assist departments in participating in the database.
Intern
I was tasked with researching multiple topics related to law enforcement. Each week, I sent a report to my supervisor showing the work I've completed so far, and how many hours I've worked. This was done to keep track of my hours for my internship credit and also so my supervisor knows what I have been working on, thanks to some of my work being done from home. This position helped me complete a Criminology Internship worth 3 credit hours at the University of Utah.
Employee
In addition to checking out customer's orders I also retrieved carts for customers to use, answered customer questions and addressed their concerns, helped ensure speed and efficiency among all checkers and baggers as well as ensured customer safety and happiness. To ensure everyone's safety, I shoveled and salted walks during the winter and responded to incidents including, but not limited to, falls, messes and angry customers. Other ways I helped with safety was assisting in monitoring and confronting shoplifters and reporting crimes and injuries/ailments to emergency services. When I wasn't working in the front, I stocked the dairy department during the evenings and assisted in stocking the grocery and frozen departments one or two mornings a week.
Unaccompanied Minor Escort
I was responsible for the transportation and care of unaccompanied minors at the Salt Lake International Airport. I cared for these kids by meeting them at their arrival gate and escorting them to their departure gate. If they had a layover, I would bring them to a waiting rooms that had TV's, books and games and make sure their needs by escorting them to restrooms and restaurants. In addition, I would escort these minors around the airport to go shopping if they desired.Unfortunately, Airserv Inc's Unaccompanied Minor Escort contract was not renewed resulting in mass layoffs.
