Welcome to my profile! I am an IT and general tech enthusiast, and you can find me paying close attention to industry trends.Currently, I work for Medpace as an IT Support professional. I am constantly engaged in new and exciting developments that affect our end users, and my goal is to implement useful and scalable solutions that reduce future work required and decrease technical debt.Previously, I worked for NetProtect as a general Technical Services specialist, and took part in projects ranging from firewall deployment, to network standup (rack and stack), end-user troubleshooting, customer service, and worked in various deskside and field deployments.I would describe myself as an excellent generalist, as I have knowledge and proficiency in various different segments of the IT world. From networks, to tech support, to C# and Powershell, I have dipped my toes in many different ponds.I am currently studying the various ins & outs of programming, information security, secure network and infrastructure design, network administration and troubleshooting, remote connectivity, and how it all connects us to each other and the cloud. A recent interest area of mine is the intersection of AI and information security; specifically, how AI can help us better protect our infrastructure from the ever-changing threat environment we exist in today.

It Support
CurrentAs IT Support, I am on the frontline for all technical issues that affect our end users. At NetProtect, I wore many different hats. This was a role that allowed me to grow into the shoes of a full-fledged technician, and I gained a wide variety of knowledge in many topics beyond that of helpdesk.From this role, I learned how to best support clients in a Helpdesk-type environment.I remotely supported dozens of clients across a wide variety of environments. I would regularly diagnose and resolve problems, and engineer solutions where there was no existing path to resolution, all while managing customer expectations. I worked with multiple ticketing systems and RMM solutions, such as Kaseya VSS and Datto.Alongside the Helpdesk experience, I was a field technician for many of the same clients in the DFW Metroplex. I supported various physical and virtual environments, from food service and manufacturing, to the healthcare and financial sector. The on-site role required a slightly different skill set and I learned how to operate under pressure with time constraints, while also being the "face" of customer service.Outside of those roles, I also served as an IT Generalist for the company. Among other things, I troubleshot niche issues such as issues on network equipment or in interactions between different software.I was responsible for the configuration and deployment of firewalls throughout our environment, such as Datto and Juniper equipment.I regularly configured and deployed VPN solutions, such as IPSec VPNs as well as SSL VPNs such as OpenVPN in both client and server-facing configurationsMy responsibilities included:Configuration, installation, and maintenance of network equipment such as firewalls and switches.Troubleshooting and problem resolution for end users.Server administration and maintenance, including AD and Azure AD.Field technician duties, including hardware repair and in-person troubleshooting.Configuration and monitoring of site to site and client VPNs.Monitoring of threat environment and security posture.
