Revitalized school-wide Multilingual procedures, standards, and family engagement. Founded and facilitate first-in-the-district Multilingual Advisory Council. National Board Certified Teacher in English as a New Language—Early and Middle Childhood.

Took over and turned around struggling 4th-grade homeroom, teaching language arts, math, and guided reading in a self-contained, inclusion setting. Homeroom achieved highest NWEA growth from fall to spring of any homeroom in the school.

Worked with a 4th-grade teaching team to launch a grade level at growing public charter school, teaching more than 50 Multilingual Learners. 90% of cohort achieved ACCESS for ELLs language proficiency growth. As English Language Development Team Lead, facilitated work group to create school-wide ESL vision and strategy areas.

Led the instruction, assessment, and professional development to promote academic achievement of 100+ 5th-8th grade Multilingual Learners. Founded co-teaching programs in Humanities with 5th and 6th-grade teachers. Created and executed implementation plan to seamlessly transition staff and students from paper-based state ESL test to new online format. Established school-wide vocabulary professional-development program, including researching best practices, piloting and measuring teaching techniques, and delivering engaging professional development for peers over multiple school years.

Supported district’s top academic officer by enhancing performance, accountability, and communication of MPS's Academic Affairs division. Collaborated with Chief Academic Officer to co-facilitate launch of district initiatives on Career Readiness and Standards-Based Grading and Reporting. Trained and certified in Project Management, spring 2013. Communication, attention to detail, and timeliness were consistently noted by co-workers.

Researched and produced policy memos on professional development, teacher quality, and state laws and regulations regarding English Language Learners (ELLs). Redrafted proposed state legislation on ELLs.

As consultant to Massachusetts' leading adult-education professional development system, managed group of teachers that wrote "The Life Skills, College, and Career Readiness Guide for ESOL Learners," a curriculum guide to be used across the state. Led professional development workshop based on the guide for roughly 20 educators from Eastern Massachusetts.

Launched ESOL and citizenship preparation programs, carrying out program design, recruitment, intake, teaching, and counseling. Pursued 10 external training opportunities in instruction and program development; trainings led to implementation of cutting-edge family literacy and goal-setting techniques. Established partnerships with more than 10 nonprofit, government, and education agencies, enhancing our program’s profile and giving students opportunities to access arts and culture opportunities across Boston.
