Production Manager
CurrentDuties include scheduling employees and managing purchasing so that a multitude of projects and competing priorities are finished on time, interfacing with customers, and managing subcontractors and vendors.• Provide accurate materials costs and labor estimates to help develop project quotes, budgets and schedules• Manage all production activities including documentation, purchasing, fabrication, assembly, testing, quality assurance, customer acceptance, and shipping• Work with Production and Engineering to make our designs more manufacturable.• Developed new processes to reduce inventory, expedite production, and encourage collaboration.• Reduced Stock Room inventory by Utilizing Lean principals, practicing JIT ordering, and implementing a cycle count; negotiated a buyback of excess material from vendors with no re-stocking fee.• Created online Task Lists to increase visibility of employee's workloads and aid in project scheduling and capacity planning.• Report status of work in process to the Operations manager daily, confer with Engineers and technicians to ensure projects meet deadlines, Attend weekly meetings to address issues needing attention.• Preside over customer acceptance of new hardware and software, and direct engineering and technical support for customer issues• Schedule and coordinate on-sight repair by technicians, transport of equipment and RMA items between facilities for Routine cal & maintenance or repair.• Create and submit monthly RMA reports; guarantee labor and material costs for and engineering support were captured correctly• Training of new employees including two operations managers, technicians, interns and admins on standard operating procedures, ongoing training of technicians and test operators in new processes• Manage and facilitate movement of BOMs from design stage to purchasing and production ready by Interpreting engineering requirements, auditing, editing, and updating as needed to maintain accuracy.
