Senior Technical Specialist (TS) April 2006 - Present • Provide Tier 3 Level support for Epicenter Data Management System. • Create custom SQL filters for customers.• Develop SQL queries to correct database errors.• Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade in-house Epicenter PC’s for Technical Service Department. • Active team member tasked to develop a program with IT Department to install Epicenter directly on Technical Services primary laptops and reduce need for a secondary laptop. (To Be Completed Q4 FY13) • Responsible for critical account escalation and resolution. • Support LIMS interface with various instruments and third party applications.• Partnered with World Health Organization to develop way to export Epicenter data into WHOnet software.• Serve as a resource and mentor for the members of Technical Service Team and other members of the BDDS organization by sharing technical expertise and in-depth knowledge around the Epicenter Platform.• Senior Technical Specialist for all BD Growth and Detection, ID/AST, and Industrial Media Platforms. Knowledgeable about all BD Diagnostic product lines.• Provide technical assistance, consultation, and troubleshooting for customers and assist sales reps with product information and recommendations. • Ensure communication between customers and Field Sales Representatives, Quality, Marketing and R & D (Research & Development). • Delivers timely, accurate and thorough responses to inquiries from domestic and international customers, Field Sales Reps and in-house associates primarily via telephone and written communication. • Coordinates with QC (Quality Control), QA (Quality Assurance), R&D (Research & Development) and Field personnel to assure timely follow-up and resolution of all technical inquiries and customer grievances.

Perform microscopy, isolation, identification and susceptibility testing with manual methods, BACTEC 9120/9240, Orgenon Teknika BacT/Alert, BD Sceptor, Vitek, and API.• Mycobacterium processing, isolation and identification with manual methods, BD MGIT 960, DNA probes, and BD BACTEC 460. • Mycology processing, isolation and identification.• Ova and parasite identification.• Virology processing, isolation and identification. Perform culture with Shell Vials and Tissue Culture. Identification via Direct Fluorescent Antibodies and microscopy.• Maintain accurate records and ensure correct results are reported to clinicians.
