The Dane County Board of Supervisors is a body of government comprising 37 elected supervisors from each of the districts in the county, representing nearly 13,000 constiuents per district. The Board acts similarly to the state legislature in that in is the policy-making body of the County government. It establishes county ordinances, levies taxes, passes laws concerning law enforcement and appropriates money for services.I have served on the Dane County Board for 10 1/2 years and was re-elected for the sixth tim in April, 2012.• Introduced and passed resolutions to make Dane County government operations more sustainable, which minimizes the impact on the environment while saving tax payer dollars.• Introduced and passed resolutions to promote biking as an alternative form of commuter transportation.• Member of the Dane County Lakes & Watershed Commission, the Personnel & Finance Committee, and Co-chair of the Dane County Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee.• Introduced and passed resolutions and ordinance amendments for a domestic partner registry for Dane County while promoting equality for all citizens.
