During the programme I worked in Housekeeping, as a housekeeper and supervisor. I next worked in Front of House in Reservations, Reception, Concierge & Switchboard.Thereafter I worked as a Spa receptionist. In F&B I have worked in the Cellar Bar and as a Supervisor in The Drawing Rooms, in the Cellar Restaurant and in Private Dining for both corporate events and weddings. I also spent time in the Kitchen.I next spent time in the Finance Department where I gained insight into Accounts, Purchasing and IT roles, assisting with Accounts Receivable and Payable and Night Audits.I thereafter spent time in Sales, Marketing, Events & HR where I was involved in many aspects of all of these roles.I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to Coordinate Front of House for Christmas 2016. This involved liaising with all of the guests who spent Christmas and New Year's Eve in The Merrion.My role was to ensure that each guests' requirements were communicated to the relevant department in the hotel in terms of rooms requirements, transport and tour arrangements, and internal and external dining reservations, so that each guest had a fantastic Christmas with us. I was thrilled to receive wonderful feedback from many guests and from my colleagues, which made this project a very worthwhile experience.I have gained valuable and insightful experience during the programme in terms of Operations Management and Guest Relations in Front of House and F&B, Events, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Rooms Management, People Management, the Use of Technology, Communication Skills and the overall running of the hotel in terms of Revenue Management, coupled with a deep understanding of the standards required to attain high scores in LQA and maintain Leading Hotels of the World status.

During this time I worked in The Drawing Rooms and Bar No. 23.Here I was involved in all aspects of the department: breakfast service, Afternoon Tea, all-day dining and residents' bar service. I gained a wide knowledge of food, tea, coffee, wine, champagne and cocktail service.I maintained a high level of product knowledge and demonstrated the exceptional service standards required by the The Leading Hotels of the World, at all times. This included anticipating guests' needs and dealing with enquiries in an efficient, friendly and professional manner.

I worked here as part of the Central Bank of Ireland Graduate Programme. As part of my role I was responsible for updating and ensuring the on-going accuracy of the NCA's interactive Financial Product Comparison Tool which involved engaging directly with financial services compliance departments to ensure data was accurate and consistent.I assisted my manager with researching and conduction insurance comparisons.I researched and drafted consultation responses on a wide variety of topics.I worked with external contractors to implement agreed changes to the financial product comparisons.I supported other NCA functions in cross-functional activities requiring input from the Research and Policy Unit.

I worked in all aspects of the visitor experience. This was a heavily brand aware position. I was involved in cash sales and ticket transactions. I worked in and managed the various bars and visitor experience points throughout the building such as orientation and tasting.I was a tour guide for private and VIP tours which I performed both in English and French. I was involved in administrative tasks; phone & email communication, bookings and P4G plans. I worked with a very large team and interacted with customers daily on a face-to-face basis. I also appeared as the tour guide on Conan O’Brien’s TBS television segment when he visited Guinness Storehouse in 2012.
