Similar analysis was conducted on behalf of the Climate Council to assess the impact of the removal of fossil fuel subsidies. In this case a more technical analysis of the price elasticity of demand was required.- Provided analysis of the SEAI’s BER dataset to provide clarity and notice trends within the vast dataset. From the outset, this research has had a policy motivation with the desired outcome being applying these findings in support of government achieving national targets in the built environment sector. - Contributed to the Regulatory Impact Assessment on the introduction of a levy on single-use disposable cups, adding research on the environmental impact of the plastics industry, the waste hierarchy and life cycle assessments of single-use and reusable cups inter alia. - Advising government on the single-use plastic items to be considered under Article 4 of the Single-Use Plastic Directive, and policy interventions which will facilitate the reductions that the directive mandates. - Reported the suggested governance procedures and funding streams for the preparation of a Territorial Just Transition Plan (TJTP) for the Midlands region, before making recommendations on how European funding could be harnessed to create a competitive region.
