CurrentThe Continuous Improvement / Safety Coach is responsible for leading and guiding continuous improvement and safety activities for the Aurora Site. I train and coach our employees to a new way of thinking in the methodologies of Continuous Improvement and Safety while collaborating with site leaders. I track and manage all results of our Continuous Improvement and Safety activities in order to learn, share and celebrate progress. I work closely with site leaders to understand their issues and concerns so they can work together to improve on their Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.
Ci Specialist
-I am currently focused on creating and implementing a root cause problem solving training program.Other activities:-Participates in the development and execution of corporate strategies of continuous improvement.-Works with area managers to identify, develop, and execute continuous improvement strategies that will drive improved efficiency, increased capacity and cost reductions.-Supports the development of process improvement objectives, specific goals and measures.-Provides technical direction and expertise to the organization on the use of continuous improvement tool sets. Supports process owners in identifying process improvement opportunities and the use of appropriate tools and methodologies. Works with and leads cross-functional teams in identifying and implementing improvements.-Oversees preparation for continuous improvement activities by collaborating with Management to clarify objectives, identify and coordinate appropriate data collection, and identify key personnel and manage logistics (location, time, etc.).-Works with Human Resources and Organizational Development team members to plan, develop and facilitate appropriate training on the use of Lean principles and tools. In addition, works with HR/OD on the development and implementation of employee communication plan related to Continuous Improvement journey.-Leads, coaches, trains and mentors cross functional teams in the implementation of techniques and tools including continuous flow manufacturing and pull systems, 5S improvement, standard work, setup reduction, value stream mapping exercises, TPM implementation, and standard work. Coaches and consults on the use of Lean tools and promotes lean principles.-Supports, ongoing tracking, assessment, and reporting on progress on the implementation and use of lean manufacturing techniques. Develops and implements internal assessment processes and tactical plans to improve operations.
Continuous Improvement Leader
• First and foremost, the Continuous Improvement Coach establishes relationships with the entire enterprise through collaboration and building a standard understanding of continuous improvement.• Provides strategic leadership to assist in the identification, development, and execution of improvement plans that meet or exceed organizational expectations. • Educate, train, coach and mentor manufacturing, non-manufacturing, and administrative personnel in continuous improvement thinking including techniques as: Improvement Kata, PDCA, Kaizen, and 8-step Problem solving.• Coach area leaders through improvement activities, including, but not limited to: Value Stream Mapping, Improvement Kata, PDCA, Kaizen, pull systems, demand flow, takt, pitch, standardized work, set-up reduction, 5S, visual factory, 8-step problem solving, and streamlining process flow through cellular manufacturing.• Ensuring control plans (based on standard work) are in place when improvements are implemented to sustain changes. • Travel when needed, to other plant and supplier sites to mentor continuous improvement techniques.• Aid in the definition of the Enterprise future state.• Conduct fact-based analysis and creation of internal organizational current state maps for all business processes and value streams.• Facilitate creating future state maps that bring the organizations together as a whole for the identification and elimination of variation, and increasing process value. • Coach team members in the day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current target plan commitments are achieved while improvements are being made. • Improve the value created by the whole system (not just optimizing the sub-parts).
