Edited more than one hundred nonfiction library-book titles in series published under the MyReportLinks.com Books imprint for children in grades four through eight. Series topics included primary source histories of Americans at war, U.S. presidents, the solar system, inventors, ancient civilizations, countries of recent immigrants, the Civil War, and endangered species. The latter focused on ways in which children could help save those species. As editor, I was involved in every stage of each book's development, from concept through design to line editing to bound book. Responsibilities included finding and signing authors, editing manuscripts, finding subject advisers, working with designers on cover and interior art, coordinating all interior illustration, and caption writing. I also supervised editorial assistants who were part of our team and performed and scheduled photo research that included finding photographs, drawings, maps, and, in some cases, commissioning original artwork.
