In consultation with the Provost and other key individuals and offices, the Assistant Provost for Strategic Initiatives initiates, develops and leads new strategic initiatives, and engages in short, medium and long range planning to ensure success. The Assistant Provost for Strategic Initiatives provides the highest level of analysis, coordination, implementation and communication support related to current and emerging issues of importance to the Division of Academic Affairs. Current projects include partnering with faculty on institutional strategies to enhance use of Open Education Resources (OER), initiatives relating to Interdisciplinary Studies, Sustainability and implementation of academic innovation initiatives across all four undergraduate colleges. The Assistant Provost represents the Provost's interests across the university. S/he works collaboratively with academic deans and other senior leaders in academic affairs, faculty leaders and members of other divisions to help plan and successfully execute these efforts.

Served in an interim role to ensure successful transition following the retirement of long-term dean. Assured advancement of critical initiatives focused on expanding the impact of the first-year experience, academic advising, academic support, and supervised related areas.

The Special Assistant to the Provost provides the highest level of analysis, coordination, implementation and communication support related to current and emerging issues of importance to the Division of Academic Affairs. In consultation with the Provost and other key individuals and offices, the Special Assistant initiates, develops and leads new strategic initiatives, and engages in short, medium and long range planning to ensure success. The Special Assistant represents the Provost's interests across the university. S/he works collaboratively with all members of the Provost’s Council, faculty leaders and members of other divisions to help plan and successfully execute these efforts. Engage faculty and academic affairs leadership in building an academic innovation initiative designed to further enhance innovation culture and support curricular innovation. Coordinate the development of a new Academic Innovation Fund. Explore ideas for academic innovation events that promote dialogue and support experimentation in the name of supporting student learning and, ultimately, student success.

Served in additional interim role to assure the availability of needed faculty development support during pandemic year. Led department through a significant shift in programs and services to remote environment highlighted by first-time implementation of remote workshops and remote conferences.

Supervised multi-faceted department that includes areas of student leadership development, campus activities programming, clubs and organizations, student government, student union, fraternity/sorority life, and special projects. Led divisional initiatives around student leadership education, CliftonStrengths implementation, retention and professional development. Cultivated functional areas including student media, international student services, commuter student services, orientation and community service that all ultimately grew to launch into their own independent areas in different organizational structures. Served in dual appointment in both this position as well as the Special Assistant to the Provost for Strategic Initiatives in 2017-2018.

Accomplishments in this role included the redevelopment of professional advising for student organizations and the development of new departmental roles in supporting student organization activities.

Served as part of the Office of the Provost team for one semester as part of year-long American Council on Education (ACE) Fellowship. Participated in working groups on issues including curriculum review, data-informed decision making, assessment, retention, diversity and inclusion and the development of a new Center for Teaching and Learning. Coordinated planning and implementation of a new Student Success Summit, designed to bring faculty and staff together in a professional development environment in dialogue about how to best support the success of today's student.

Selected as 1 of 29 administrators and faculty from around the country in nationally competitive fellowship program. According to the program description, this unique program condenses years of on-the-job experience and skills development into a single year. As a result, the ACE Fellows Program is the most effective, comprehensive leadership development program in American higher education today. Of more than 1,800 Fellows to date, more than 300 have served as chief executive officers at more than 350 institutions.

Worked to develop comprehensive campus activities department that unified programming and student organization advising with functions of campus center management. Supervise administrators focused around areas of programming and student leadership development.

Helped to establish a new Campus Activities department and new student leadership structures and opportunities to enhance campus life. Served as administrator on call for Residence Life and Housing department and assisted with a range of campus programming.
