In consultation with the Provost and other key individuals and offices, the Assistant Provost for Strategic Initiatives initiates, develops and leads new strategic initiatives, and engages in short, medium and long range planning to ensure success. The Assistant Provost for Strategic Initiatives provides the highest level of analysis, coordination, implementation and communication support related to current and emerging issues of importance to the Division of Academic Affairs. Current projects include partnering with faculty on institutional strategies to enhance use of Open Education Resources (OER), initiatives relating to Interdisciplinary Studies, Sustainability and implementation of academic innovation initiatives across all four undergraduate colleges. The Assistant Provost represents the Provost's interests across the university. S/he works collaboratively with academic deans and other senior leaders in academic affairs, faculty leaders and members of other divisions to help plan and successfully execute these efforts.
