Worked as part of the editorial board to assign stories, decide budgets and design page layouts and with the editorial, photography, design and advertising staff in general to produce an award-winning newspaper.Assigned and edited stories while assisting with overall design and layout. As a news page designer I pulled copy, photos and graphics together and did basic copy editing on my pages. I also collaborated on special section covers and headline writing.

As the Education Intern I was responsible for leading classes and tours through the gardens and teaching children about plants, nutrition, insects, art and nature in a fun and engaging way. I planned and led day camps, parties and worked at the garden's festivals.

Helped the technicians run DNA and PCR tests on various crops for the experiments being done in the lab at the time. Assisted in day-to-day operations of the lab such as watering plants, cleaning greenhouses and autoclaving materials.
