“Understanding Carbon Nanoparticle Transport in Saturated Porous Media: Influence of pH and Dissolved Organic Matter” • Assisted with the execution of one-dimensional column experiments used to investigate solute (bromide) and tracer (carbon nanoparticle) transport. • Specific tasks included column effluent sample preparation, lab equipment maintenance, and assisting with other tasks essential to the study (ended a column experiment by sealing solution and suspension reservoirs and shutting down a peristaltic pump and fraction collector. • Completed an orientation session with the goal of ensuring a full understanding of goals, objectives, methods, and hypotheses of the study.

“Investigating the Long-Term Response to Pumping in the Denver Basin Multi-Aquifer System”• Deployed and retrieved multiple piezometer and other stream gauges nests along East Plum Creek, Colorado.• Collected hydrologic data including hydraulic gradient, head, stream velocity, dimensions, and aquifer depths using piezometer nests, tape measurers, velocimeters, and applications of Darcy’s Law.

“Improving Seismic Hazard Characterization and Aftershock Studies with Computer-On-Module-Enhanced Seismic Recorders”, -November, 2019• Assembled and deployed array of field equipment allowing for the communication of nodes of Reflection Technology consisting of Raspberry Pis, Geophones, and Seismic Recording Equipment.• Tested the functionality of Seismic Source iSeis software in analyzing data collected by the system, namely Sigma Setup, Vibra Scope, and Data Collector3.• Assisted with the execution and site characterization of the field area based on simulated seismic events (using ambient noise produced by highway traffic, trains, and sledgehammers) recorded by the array.• Completed preliminary field research with the goal of troubleshooting problems in the recorders, ensuring equipment functionality, and establishing a productive seismic system and communication between nodes.• Identified and documented earthquakes based on incoming body waves from seismic data collected in the Dominican Republic.
