As a Quality Supervisor, I interface with the Production team to ensure quality specifications are met by daily production and initiate holds and provide dispositions when gaps are identified. I foster audit-ready production spaces and mindsets by conducting weekly gemba walks and addressing observations with members of the team.Other projects and tasks include, but are not limited to:- Implementing 5S organization for retains and department paperwork to improve investigation readiness- Reconciling master product indices against corporate specifications and production lists for the entire plant- Standardizing processes and investigations by creating written work instructions and forms

During my time as a Manufacturing Management Trainee, I completed my Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification around the reduction of biological oxygen demand (BOD) in wastewater. I created interactive trackers to identify trends in past and current utility use to successfully narrow the scope of the project. After observing current state practices, I developed and presented a plant-wide awareness training to reduce utilities and waste down the drains. I reinforced the awareness training by spending hours out on the floor to coach associates on various drain waste reduction practices during sanitation processes. The BOD reduction seen during this time projected a behavior-dependent annual savings of $50k and an additional potential annual savings of $150k with capital investment.

During my time at Carus, I worked in product development and had the opportunity to develop my technical and interpersonal skills.My projects included:--Testing performance of sorbents for arsenic removal from groundwater using Graphite Furnace-Atomic Absorption--Developing UV-vis spectroscopy and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry methods for characterizing the advanced oxidation of potassium permanganate for water remediation applications--Evaluating environmental risk of acid runoff from EPA Superfund slag pile samples using Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy--Leading departmental safety meeting and conducting monthly safety inspections

I collaborated with other teachers and counselors to organize and lead groups of 20-30 children ages 3-12 through various activities. My main responsibilities were the preschool-aged group and the before-camp services. The before-camp group covered all ages and ranged from 10-30 campers each morning. I also resolved misbehavior, social conflict, and injury with appropriate actions.

I tested the effects of formulation and processing parameters on lead (II) sulfide nanoparticle structure for applications in atmospheric CO2 sequestration to help mitigate global warming. I then presented my research findings in an oral presentation and a written paper for the Students and Teachers as Research Scientists Program.
