Tasked with the question of whether or not unclaimed assets in Canada could be repurposed for impact investing, this project involved: an initial scan of unclaimed assets in Canada; information interviews with public and private stakeholders (at the federal, provincial, and local level); comparative case study analysis; drafting recommendations; and a final pitch of the project.

This Masters programs incorporates graduate-level theoretical and hands-on application of international relations, economic analysis and engaging with policy through public and private sectors. Through this 2 year masters program, students are provided with a framework and understanding to navigate current global situations (ranging from economic crises, hostel situations, economic development, etc.) through cohort/team learning, simulations, professional development seminars and a mandatory international internship. In my last year of my masters, I specialized in global markets and innovative theory- delving into how supporting innovation can promote regional economic development.

Managed logistics for a year-long innovation and education outreach program for over 180 regional high school students; planned and coordinated logistics, space, and procurement for 8 monthly events, culminating in a day-long symposium for over 400 participants.

Swisspeace is a practice-oriented peace research institute aiming to provide insightful knowledge on conflict studies and peace transformation. My research area is within the Office of Business and Peace, identifying the role the private sector can/should have in peace building using the case study of El Salvador from 1992 onwards.

Asheville, North Carolina Area

This internship, between undergrad and graduate school, allowed me to compile, analyze, and close over 30 year-end budgets. These budgets included all of the departments falling under the Office of the Vice Chancellor. In doing so, I learned more about governmental budgetary coding and was able to put theoretical knowledge to practice by balancing and organizing these departmental budgets.

During this time I was able to first re-writing the student organization handbook by updating the framework in which student organizations communicate with each other and professional staff. This also included a re-vamping the Student Org Council. After the basic structural skeleton was in place, one my central roles was acting as a bridge between student organizations, international students and the professional staff in Student Activities. My functions for which I most proud of include assessing the program through pre/post surveys, help to maintain a budget of $130,000 for 30 organizations, increasing unique participation by 270%, working one on one with over 130 international students and creating and delivering over 10 professional development trainings.

Being a 24/7 resource for residents of Mills Hall: putting on educational and social programs, acting as a mediator and disciplinarian, serving as a bridge between professional staff and residents.

Serving as the face of the REHO office: answering phones, making sure files are kept up-to-date, putting together anything that went out to the whole of the residential campus (i.e. exam bags, notification letters, etc), organizing and maintaining all residential keys, etc.
