About Claire Fields
The short: Former pastry chef turned software developer. Rock climbing, weird bass music and houseplants are half my personality. I'm passionate about React, good UI/UX, and web accessibility.The long: Before enrolling at the Turing School of Software and Design, my life took a circuitous road through architecture, organic farming, and food service. Along the way, my drive for continual growth and mastery has been the thread. Over nearly a decade in the restaurant industry, I honed my strategic-thinking and creative problem-solving skills until I reached a point where I felt I was no longer learning and the lifestyle was no longer sustainable. An enduring interest in language, layout, and design stretching all the way back to my time as Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper led me to front end engineering.
