- Developed a sampling-based motion planning algorithm that can exploit collisions and experimentally verified it with a self-developed tensegrity-structured collision-resilient multicopter.- Developed a Unity-platform vision-in-loop flight simulator based on MS AirSim to facilitate rapid testing and development of autonomous flight strategies in cluttered agricultural environments for smart farming tasks like yield estimation.- Designed and prototyped a miniature Unmanned Aerial-Underwater Vehicle (UAUV) and studied the performance of the vehicle at water-air interface.

- Created a virtual lab software with a C++based flight physics simulator and a python-based customized 3D-visualizer. The software virtually replicates the originally off-line lab courses and projects of UC Berkeley’s ME136 UAV course. The software has been used by over 300 students for their lab sessions during the COVID-19 remote instruction period.
