Launched in 2016, Epik Shop was an online marketplace offering the best emerging and established independent Southeast Asian boutiques to Malaysian and Singaporean shoppers. My role entailed attracting, engaging and converting our audience into regular customers through strategic use of digital content and marketing.

CLEO launched in 1995 with a simple mission: To provide young women with fun, intelligent and empowering content. Within three years, it shot to the top slot as the best-selling, English-language women's title, and continues to be one of the strongest media titles in Malaysia. During my time at CLEO, I helped rejuvenate its brand identity, rebranded its digital and social media strategies, and relaunched its website to resonate with today's digital natives.

Tongue in Chic is a digital platform dedicated to covering the latest fashion and beauty news, trends and personalities from the Southeast Asian region, and beyond. With a key understanding of the vision and brand direction of Tongue in Chic, I was in charge of directing all editorial content and staff. I also supervised internal budgets, managed all third-party sales agencies and oversaw the revenue health of the brand, thereafter, identifying and building relationships with potential clients of Tongue in Chic, before managing campaigns and events with them.

Harper's BAZAAR is a style source where fashion, beauty and culture with cutting-edge photography converge. As sub-editor, I was responsible for ensuring that all pages in the magazine were print-worthy, accurate, clear, concise and consistent with the house style, voice and brand vision. I developed production schedules each month, making sure that the workflow system was adhered to, and that deadlines were met by the editorial team. I also managed and liaised with the editorial, design and sales & marketing teams, and clients, for approvals of creatives, marketing-related and in-house collaterals.

Freeform Sdn Bhd was a print and digital publisher that created quality content for KL-ites, and innovative marketing solutions for its clients. Its portfolio included KLue Magazine, Junk Magazine and Tongue in Chic, all of which I managed and created editorial content for. Key developments during my tenure here includes an insight of print and digital publishing, photography, styling and art direction, material and product sourcing, trend analysing, photo and layout editing, social media strategising and event management.

The New Straits Times is Malaysia's oldest newspaper still in print, covering the latest in politics, business, sports, world and entertainment news. From 1998 to 2004, the Friday edition of its Lifestyle segment was called Youth Quake, featuring content by and targeted for Malaysian youths. In between high school and college, I headed the lifestyle and entertainment section at Youth Quake. My biggest accomplishments were penning several cover and feature stories during my short stint there.
