I am a recent graduate from the University of San Diego, with a Bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I have a keen interest in microbiology, genetics, microbial communities, and the function of neurons. As such, I have taken coursework related to these fields throughout my college career, along with participating in three research projects including: the role of CTRA in the regulation of motility and encystment in R. centenum, isolation and identification of antibiotic producing bacteria, and the characterization of missense mutations in proteins of the biopterin synthesis pathway in C. elegans. I look forward to building more research experience, expanding my knowledge of biology, and working towards attaining a Masters and PhD in Microbiology.
