Cody led an IT Governance organization with multiple teams focused on building, maintaining, and monitoring enterprise SDLC processes. This includes building out the Design, Development, and Acquisition processes, risks, and controls for all of IT at USAA. After several availability challenges for USAA, Cody was hand-selected to join a select group of leaders and engineers to build the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization. Accomplishments include: o Creating an SRE strategy centered around the tenents of developing service level objectives (SLOs), building a blameless culture and reducing toil through intelligent use of automation o Reduced system outage downtime associated with major money movement system through implementation of SLOs and resiliency efforts o Provided actionable strategy to multiple business leaders for prioritizing system resiliency work based on data from SLOs for respective systems o Developed a long-term strategy for the SRE organization, with metrics and goals, to improve the reliability for all supported products o Assembled and managed a team of high performers from across application, operations and security teams.
