Wildcrafting, medicine making and product formulations. We make tinctures, oils, cordials, salves, honeys and more. We teach classes, herb walks, skill shares. My products have been featured in many different boutique subscriptions boxes as well as in stores throughout the Bay Area. My practice has a social justice focus and I believe in getting “medicine to the people “ and then I want to show them where to get it, how to grow it, where to find it, how to prepare it. We specialize in working with clients who are in the LGBTQI community, those who are gender non-conforming, gender expansive, folks living with disabilities and folks who are living with experiences labeled as mental health concerns. During Occupy Oakland in 2012 we joined with other Bay Area herbalists to open the Suitcase Apothecary. This was separate from the medic tent and folks were able to see an herbalist every week and get free medicine to treat their ongoing concerns. We were able to treat hundreds of unhoused neighbors and protestors every week for no cost.

Managed political organizing and election efforts for all of Clean Water Action’s great work in Western Pennsylvania. Supervised full time Program Organizers working to protect residents from lead in our drinking water, reduce air pollution in Mon Valley/Allegheny County, and the ongoing work to hold politicians and polluters accountable for impacts on public health. Gave ongoing weekly briefings to our phone and field canvasses across the country and continued to do workshops and trainings at national conferences. For local elections I met with candidates who filled out our survey to decide on the endorsements with our board. I then created all of the endorsement materials and talking points for all our field and phone canvassers. Post election we made sure to visit often to be sure they were keeping their clean water promises. Also organized both local and state wide lobbying days to take members and constituents to Harrisburg to talk about clean water priorities in Pennsylvania.

Oakland, Ca

As the Staff Director in this office I was responsible for recruitment, training, fundraising & leadership development for an office with over 25 phone canvass staff as well as a 5-8 member leadership team. Worked with Program partners on national, statewide, and local program priorities, organizational goals and was able to implement core organizational training modules on Cultural Competency, and Racial Justice. Was a founding member of California Racial Justice Committee and was able to successfully roll that Committee out nationally as well with the support of the board. We met and exceeded fundraising budgets of over 110k per month with a high emphasis on member engagement, member retention, and high donor development. In this role I was able to start securing grants from other non-profit partners for election and advocacy work we were already doing.

Started this role while in Pittsburgh and as a Manager I was sent to a number of different struggling offices across the organization to help them revamp their recruiting and onboarding operations. We’d then make a plan to develop their leadership teams and do deep dives into office culture and the factors impacting their success. I was in Pittsburgh 2006-2009 then sent to DC, Baltimore , Minneapolis, San Francisco and Oakland before finally sticking in Oakland office and accepting Director role. This role involved developing a lot of workshops, skill shares and training materials for use by all offices. The training materials were on many different topics for organizers, canvassers, and folks working on elections. This is where I discovered my passion for doing DEI training and creating welcoming office cultures. In addition to this I was responsible for recruiting and managing hundreds of phone volunteers for election cycles in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012
