I am building out the new cards feature in Power Apps. This feature allows citizen developers to easily create interactive adaptive cards shareable across many platforms for quick and easy collaboration. My work involves deploying and integrating a globally-distributed service handling distribution and interaction with cards.

I develop features for the AI Builder service in the PowerPlatform which democratizes AI by enabling citizen developers with little to no knowledge of AI to use powerful AI algorithms to derive insights or enhance business processes using their data. For this service, I developed an end to end testing framework to help facilitate testing and integration across the multiple components involved in our service. I also work on developing our APIs which are installed into the Common Data Service and act as the front door for accessing and communicating with our service.

I was a software engineer working to develop features and maintain a data querying service designed to allow internal Microsoft systems to query from large amounts of data in real-time. During this role, I developed a data source to be queried which involved aggregating and joining several large data sources at an offline, periodic cadence using Cosmos and implementing logic to perform real-time aggregation of recent data and joins with historic data to quickly return all the data queried. In addition to feature development, I maintained the service to prevent and mitigate outages by monitoring the service, repairing SQL server databases, and repairing web servers.

I am the part time IT Systems Administrator of Nightingale Montessori during the academic year. I manage a Windows client/server environment which includes provisioning and maintaining clients as well as configuring servers. I also manage the network consisting of VLANs, VPNs and web filtering. I manage iPads and create and maintain databases for office use in FileMaker. In addition to configuration and upkeep, I am also responsible for making executive decisions regarding technology systems to create a productive learning environment. As the systems administrator, I am also the main troubleshooter for most problems that are too difficult for others to answer. While I used to work onsite, when I enrolled myself in Georgia Tech, I switched to working remotely for this job. I am required to be responsible for all technical issues and enhancements along with having to teach the teachers and administrators how to use the technology that is provided all from a different state.

As a software engineering intern at Microsoft, I worked on an end-to-end solution for collecting, processing, and presenting telemetry from Windows 10 client computers to show the trends of machines' update health. I designed, developed, and tested code changes to a component of the Windows Update experience that shipped to over 100K machines during my internship and will ship to over 500 million computers in the near future. In addition to client side development, I also manipulated large datasets in Microsoft's Cosmos data system using Microsoft's Scope. I designed the data processing system to be capable of processing over 500 million data entries per day. Finally, I presented the data using SQL and PowerBI to show trends over time.

As an intern in the Portal DevOps team at ADP, I scheduled and prepared nightly software deployments every day. This required a good understanding of how the deployment process worked for a large application. Additionally, I configured a NGINX proxy server to proxy HTTP content over HTTPS, wrote several ruby and bash scripts, created Groovy Servlets to dynamically display formatted data on webpage, created jobs in Jenkins to automate tasks, and enhanced Puppet deployment code. From this internship, I furthered my skills in communication, responsibility, Linux administration, and scripting.

During my internship at the Ohio Supercomputing Center, I worked on migrating the application GooFit, an application that fit data to various models used in Physics, from using CUDA to using various backends with Thrust. I migrated the application to use Thrust and was then able to vary the backend between CUDA, OpenMP, and MPI during compilation. I tested and optimized the code on GPUs, CPUs, and Xeon Phi devices.

As a research assistant for Professor Steven Bogaerts, formerly a professor at Wittenberg University, I developed coding example in various parallel programming languages for instructional use. I wrote tutorials and examples in Chapel, C with OpenMP, C with MPI, and CUDA for teachers to use when teaching different parallel programming languages. The examples demonstrated various tools and features present in each language for parallel programming.
