I’m an engineer specializing in robotics, with focuses in motion planning & controls, vehicle dynamics, and modeling & simulation, with a robust background in both academia and industry. I thrive when modeling and designing systems that function within unstructured environments. So far, I’ve applied this to both the fields of autonomous vehicles and medical device robotics.At Applied Intuition, I owned the development of controls algorithms for a key product area, doing everything from designing formulations, to integrating with upstream and downstream software components, to building custom tooling for in-sim and on-vehicle testing. This involved extensive work in C++, as well as Python and MATLAB.Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to explore robotics through a different lens, in both surgical robotics and advanced manufacturing. At Intuitive and Johnson & Johnson I worked with state of the art robotic surgery platforms, building and validating models of their dynamics to reduce the time required to validate the system. At Apple I drove the redesign of assembly line components for product flexibility, learning how to best integrate robotic technology into a factory ecosystem.In addition to my professional experience, I engaged in research that bridged theoretical study and practical implementation, including co-authorship of a paper published in Science. At the Bio-Inspired Research and Design Lab (BIRD Lab) at Stanford University I designed experiments to understand the mechanics of bird feathers during wing motion. Additionally, as an intern at the Farhat Research Group I designed and implemented a novel mesh generation strategy for finite element method simulations.Some other tools I have gained experience with throughout my career include ROS/RVIZ, QP solvers, Bazel/CMake, React, Foxglove, as well as extensive internally-developed sim tooling.I embody a unique blend of technical acumen, innovative thinking, and practical skills in robotics, dynamics, and control.
