Colin Hart is a managing partner at Freedom Development, a commerical real estate investment company. Based in Alexandria, Virginia, the firm acquires properties for redevelopment in urban infill areas of the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Hart was Managing Director of Vanquest Investments Limited, a privately held investment company making acquisitions in Eastern Europe. Vanquest operated three business divisions: direct acquisitions, listed securities investments, and real estate development. Prior to joining Vanquest, Mr. Hart was a Principal at Milestone Merchant Partners, head of Milestone's Bucharest Office, and Chief Operating Officer of the Romania & Moldova Direct Fund, L.P., Milestone’s $20 million country-specific private equity fund. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Hart served as an Associate with The Carlyle Group and was a member of The Carlyle Group’s Economic Offset Advisory Team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia assisting the Saudi government identify and implement joint venture projects in the petrochemicals, waste recycling, food processing and biogenetics sectors.From 1993 to 1994, Mr. Hart was the International Business Analyst at Reed Smith Shaw & McClay in Washington, D.C. He holds a Masters of Arts in International Transactions from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern and Asian Studies from the University of Virginia.
