My role is to repair and maintain fire alarm systems.

My role working in the store was to greet customers, serve at the checkout and help customers with their purchases from the store to their vehicle. While working there all the toys had their own sections which was covered by their department. As an assistant my responsibility was to cover the shop floor making sure that it was tidy and safe for customers as a lot of them would leave toys bikes etc. lying on the floor. Even though most of the time I was allocated to a particular section I would help out in others, from outdoor to nursery and find out the relevant information, not only to help the customer but to get a better understanding myself. I learned how to process certain purchases such as software, bikes and click and collect.

Worked in a new hospital installing the fire alarm system. My main responsibility was to assist the electrician with the installation, running cable and fitting the equipment. On several occasions I have been placed into a supervisor's role due to my previous experience with fire alarm systems. In this role I had to assign duties to fellow employees, making sure that each task was completed to a high standard and that they had a thorough understanding of how to wire the equipment and read off floor plans for installation.

I have a lot of experience serving the public and working in a front level customer service environment with a high level of customer expectation. I feel I am comfortable now in managing the resources needed to deliver a high level of customer service. My responsibilities were to assist customers with their daily shopping routine, showing them around the store and serving them at the checkout, conducting myself in a polite and professional manner. I am a sociable and helpful individual who has come to grips with all aspects of customer service, till operating and money handling.

When working for Caledonian Fire my roles were to supply, install and commission fire alarm systems. During this time I learned how to communicate well with customers, create contracts and carry out maintenance checks on various fire alarm systems. While working there I was giving the opportunity to expand and exercise my knowledge after being promoted to a managerial position. My responsibilities then were to organise and allocate the maintenance’s that had to be carried out by the other engineers and make sure that targets were being met.
