The mindset I bring is about creating possibilities. I’m a weaver and a connector. Listening for what the next right question is. I’m inclusive and engaging and bring this lens and skills to support effective collaborative action. I’m understanding and accepting of people’s differences and difficulties. We’re all differently informed these days which can make it more difficult to come to a shared understanding. And, we all have different experience and expertise to bring to the table. The issues we face in society are complex and can’t be solved by any one individual, sector, discipline or perspective. I seek to bring these various perspectives and experiences into harmony, to identify creative solutions and take collaborative action toward addressing complex problems.To carry this out, I help groups to:Launch new collaborationsDesign and facilitate collaborative meetings and eventsProvide online meeting technology supportManage ongoing collaborative actionCreate and execute public and multi-stakeholder engagement plansIn 2008, I helped launch the Vital Lands Illinois Network and continued to support the network until the end of 2020 to meaningfully engage the broadest spectrum of stakeholders in achieving the vision to create an interconnected system of land and water of sufficient scale and ecological health to allow habitat, wildlife and people to thrive.I have over 25 years of experience working at the intersection of collaborative technologies and organizational development. I’ve supported over 2,000 critical collaborative meetings and conferences for a variety of government, corporate, non-profit, and community organizations. As a partner at Covision, I contributed to the creation of the AmericaSpeaks “21st Century Town Hall Meeting” model in collaboration with Carolyn Lukensmeyer and others. I partnered with AmericaSpeaks to bring large, diverse groups of people together to tackle issues including Climate Change, Mental Health, Poverty, Youth Obesity, and the Federal Deficit. In my free time, I enjoy playing piano, continuing to learn, and spending time with my two adult children.
