Colleen Murphy is a communications, events, and marketing specialist in Philadelphia, PA. In her current role as Special Events Manager at The Liberty View at Independence Visitor Center, Colleen produces corporate and special events in the heart of historic Old City Philadelphia. The Liberty View boasts fantastic panoramic views of the entire Independence Mall area. From our wraparound terrace with its seasonal garden walls, or through the Ballroom’s floor-to-ceiling glass wall, guests take in a fabulous, one-of-a-kind view of America’s most historic square-mile. Additionally, our pre-function space, with its own covered terrace, overlooks our spectacular Grand Hall with its three-story high ceilings and its sparkling string lights.From 2017 - 2023, Colleen held the role as Manager of Marketing and Communications at the Global Interdependence Center (GIC), managing the organization's digital marketing and PR efforts. Starting in 2020, Colleen produced over 60 public webinars for GIC, welcoming thousands of virtual attendees. Prior to GIC, Colleen’s previous roles in the communications field were at organizations Back on My Feet and the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation (PVCC). While on the marketing team at the PVCC, Colleen gained insight into the tourism industry in Philadelphia and was able to perfect her marketing skills and strategies. In addition to her event management and digital marketing experience in the non-profit sector, Colleen has offered her public relations skills for onsite media relations at some of Philadelphia’s largest public events, such as Wawa Welcome America, the Philadelphia Marathon, and the 2017 NFL Draft.Colleen is a proud Philadelphia native and received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. During the time of her college career, she studied business communication and English as a globalized language at Aarhus University in Aarhus, Denmark, to which she attributes her strong passion for global affairs and transnational communication.
