I am part of a team of senior engineers responsible for handling monitoring, automation and performance testing. We develop monitoring and inventory solutions with a strong focus on automation and integration and we design and execute performance tests and dynamic code analysis, both for internal and external customers. Our team designed and now maintains an effective monitoring solution, based on a mix of proprietary and Open Source products with custom integrations, providing Service Levels reporting for our customers and supplying real-time data to our Operations Control Center team.My team is also responsible for:- 2nd and 3rd level support, whenever the issue at hand involves complex or distributed systems that cannot be assigned for analysis and resolution to a single engineering team.- Engaging internal engineering teams, third parties and customers’ developers teams to analyze, discuss and solve performance problems on applications and technical services.- Configuring, maintaining and extending our CMDB solution as the SOR for all other CM and monitoring solutions, including an Enterprise Architecture solution used in aiding strategical IT choices.- Configuring, maintaining and extending our machine-generated big-data collection and reporting solution, which is rapidly gaining in both coverage and prominence as an all-purpose platform inside the company.

I was the technical lead of a team of 2 other people (+ external contractors) working on one our customers' middleware infrastructure: IBM WebSphere 8.5 and 7.0 with WebSphere Portal Server, running on Aix 5.x and JBoss AS 7.x (EAP 6.1) running on RHEL 6.x and some legacy WebSphere 6.1 systems.My team currently also handles for the same customer:- general SysAdmin tasks on EMC2 Documentum 6.x and other content management platforms.- performance and availability monitoring of web applications.- performance testing and analysis of technical and infrastructure services and web applications.- deployment automation of JEE, OSGI and other non-java applications.

I’ve worked in a team of 3 people (another senior engineer and a junior) as a senior Unix systems engineer for a newly started banking institution. We managed the company’s Unix (IBM Aix 5.x) and Linux (RHEL 5.x) servers infrastructure and all the related systems and services (including the Storage Area Networks). As an expert on many technical subjects, I served as a point of reference for the various developer teams, networking teams and middleware management team, helping them assess automation, capacity and performance issues and in the general troubleshooting and planning. During this period, I also designed, developed, deployed and maintained the company’s component and service monitoring solution.
