As a designer, I assisted with revisions to engineering plans during the QA/QC process for the 24 & Peterson Intersection Improvement project, helping the team achieve the 90% submittal milestone. In my role as a construction inspector, I measured quantities, documented construction progress, and coordinated with the Black Forest Road Widening Project team. I also contributed as a bridge inspection assistant, assessing bridge conditions for the City of Boulder’s Minor Bridge Inspection project. In addition, I studied for and achieved my OSHA-10 Training Certification, enhancing my knowledge of safety standards in the field. I also teamed up with other Summer 2024 interns to develop a high school internship and job shadow program at BASIS, drawing on my own internship experience to design a program that effectively introduces students to civil engineering career paths.

As the President of the California Baptist University ASCE chapter, I lead our organization in advancing our mission to promote civil engineering education and professional development. I oversee the planning and execution of events, workshops, and networking opportunities for members, ensuring alignment with our goals. My responsibilities include fostering partnerships with industry stakeholders, securing sponsorships, and advocating for student interests within the broader engineering community. I am committed to enhancing member engagement and developing initiatives that empower students to excel in their studies and careers while making a positive impact in our community.

As PSWS Co-Chair, I played a pivotal role in securing sponsorships from various companies, successfully fundraising to support our chapter's participation in the Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS). I led our ASCE chapter in organizing travel logistics for our competition at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, which presented numerous challenges. These included coordinating flight bookings, managing budgets for team members, ensuring the safe transportation of essential equipment, and arranging local transportation and accommodations. By developing effective strategies to navigate these logistical hurdles, I ensured a smooth experience for all participants while fostering a spirit of teamwork and collaboration within our chapter.

As a Freshman Representative for the California Baptist University chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), I served as a liaison between the freshman class and the executive board. My role involved actively engaging new members by organizing orientation events, promoting membership benefits, and fostering a sense of community among first-year students. I collaborated with other board members to facilitate discussions on academic and extracurricular opportunities, ensuring that freshmen felt welcomed and informed about their resources and opportunities within the ASCE chapter.

As a Freshman Mentor with the FLARE program at California Baptist University, I played a key role in guiding and supporting first-year engineering students as they transitioned into college life. I provided mentorship through one-on-one interactions and group sessions, helping freshmen navigate academic challenges, develop effective study habits, and establish meaningful connections within the engineering community. By fostering a positive and inclusive environment, I encouraged students to engage in extracurricular activities and seek resources for academic success. This experience enhanced my leadership and communication skills while deepening my commitment to supporting the growth and development of future engineers.

As and Technician 2, I managed a soil lab, performing essential soil tests—such as proctor, swell, gradation, and sieve analysis—to support project requirements and deliver accurate results for clients. I trained new employees in soil and concrete testing processes and consulted for the Colorado Department of Transportation as a pavement sample runner on a paving project. Along the way, I developed valuable professional networks and gained references within the Civil Engineering field. Additionally, I oversaw project timelines and managed company resources, including materials and company vehicles.

As a Technician 1, I studied for and earned my American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification, allowing me to test concrete for ADA projects and contribute to high-quality results. Working in the lab, I gained extensive knowledge of soil testing techniques and practical project experience. I also consulted for the Colorado Department of Transportation on ADA data collection projects, building valuable professional networks and gaining references within the Civil Engineering field. Throughout my work, I managed project timelines and company resources, including materials and vehicles.
