Current interests include mechanistic systems modeling to guide drug discovery and development, development of advanced user interfaces to enable interactive exploration of models by non-modelers, and open science initiatives.I have over 20 years of experience in software design and development related to numerical simulation tools and platforms. In particular, I have been the lead software engineer and/or chief architect of both commercial and government-funded tools for applications including computational biology, industrial process analysis and control, and distributed simulation. My expertise in software development languages and tools includes UML, C#, C++, Java, MATLAB, and R. My experience in software process management includes implementation of a variety of agile methods covering the entire software development lifecycle: software requirements capture and analysis, software design, iterative development, QA and verification/validation, and product fielding, support and maintenance.
