In 2013 I left my 25-year career in finance and moved from London to Philadelphia, where I just finished my MA in Art History at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. My career in finance was always based on research and writing, at which I excel. I am a disciplined worker and I have considerable experience in detail-oriented work, working to strict deadlines, and working to satisfy several stakeholders. I am also a flexible team player and will chip in whenever and wherever I am needed. I have excellent Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I also have management and leadership skills.

This work included researching the artists and their works, interpretating the works, writing catalogue essays and gallery labels, arranging the works in the galleries, and working with a designer on the catalogue layout. I also researched several works in the museum’s collection for which there was no date or account of origin; I documented my findings and added them to the object files. I attended regular exhibition team meetings with staff from exhibitions management, registrar, development, marketing, preparation, and education. I worked closely with the collections and registrar teams to launch the digital collection, and I wrote eMuseum interpretation texts for works that went live on the website. I used the TMS database daily. Show less

Case Manager: Worked one-on-one with immigrants, refugees, and local Philadelphians. Met with them at least once a week to help them organize their lives so that they could attend their language, high school equivalency, and other qualification classes at the centre. This involved helping them to solve other household problems and personal motivational issues.
I managed a team of 5 fund research analysts. This was an analytical/research-intensive role where my team and I researched mutual and hedge funds, wrote reports based on this research, and decided which funds would make good investments for our clients. We then presented these funds to a central investment committee for approval.
I was responsible for analyzing and researching European-based hedge funds for inclusion on the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management platform. I wrote research reports based on this research and was part of the decision making process of which funds made good investments for our clients. I would then present my research to a central investment committee for final approval.
I advised several European-based hedge funds on how to launch a hedge fund and how to raise capital from investors.
