I’ve always enjoyed taking things apart and seeing how they worked. I love finding out why something is broken or repairing something that’s still perfectly usable. I tinker in a lot of different hobbies like knitting and repairing electronics as well.I love knitting for its modularity and that by following incremental iterations of stitches, you can produce something tangible. Something is unique about taking instructions that look foreign to most people and turning them into some real. I started taking iPhones apart when the iPhone 4 came out with the glass back. I shattered it quickly, but the replacement was too expensive, so I bought the equipment and watched a tutorial. Back then, you had to take the entire phone apart to get to the back, and there were 32 screws of different lengths, and putting one back in the wrong place resulting in puncturing the logic board.I graduated from iPhones to computers, and soon I was picking up Roombas on the street and repairing them myself! I loved the finickiness of it and having the knowledge that I could accomplish it.
