Civil Engineering Project Manager
International Container Terminal Services Incorporated (Ictsi)
Croatia/Georgia
My role is to assist the Company in organizing, controlling, monitoring and recording all activities of the construction management of their projects. Duties include ensuring that the Company’s requirements are satisfactorily implemented within the design(s); the most appropriate Contract type(s) are adopted to deliver successfully completed project(s). This entails the supervision and administration of both Consultants and Contractors to ensure Contracts are undertaken on time, to budget and to the requisite quality. In particular, I have been in charge of several Civil Engineering Contracts both in Croatia, (Rijeka) on the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal and in Georgia, (Batumi) on the Batumi International Container Terminal. The works in Rijeka included, but not limited to 320m quay, 12ha of Container yard(s), Sub-station(s), Entrance/Exit Gates and associated Administration Building, 2ha of Intermodal Yard(s) as well as the day to day repair and maintenance Contracts. The works in Batumi included the provision of 4ha of Container Yard as well as other smaller maintenance and repair Contracts. I am based in Croatia but travel to Georgia at least once every 1-2months or as often as the workload as dictates. In addition to the above, and on ad hoc basis I have also undertaken due diligence inspections, investigation on a number of prospective ports in other countries under the Company’s consideration, providing feedback and input on their viability and suitability from a Civil Engineering perspective, including condition surveys, cost estimates on permanent civil elements of works as well as repairs/maintenance and the preparation of the associated programmes.
