- Fundraising Operations Coordinator at CDP- Social Media Content Creator & Manager for a vineyard & tasting room- Artist- CopywriterNow that's a interesting combination- am I right?But what I've come to realize and embrace is that I am exactly that- an interesting combination!My career path began in the operating room as a surgical technician (where I learned much about life, death and the meaning of true teamwork), but after an injury sidelined me, I had to leave a job that I loved and accept a change of profession.During my recuperation I discovered a passion for art! I channeled this passion to help me through some tough times and make good life decisions- which included furthering my education.By focusing on my creative side and the teamwork and leadership skills I gained working in surgery, I was able to discover my passions while recognizing new opportunities and go for them!These have included:- Finishing up my bachelor's degree in Business Administration (summer of 2024 grad!)- Becoming an Fundraising Operations Coordinator at a CDP where I can apply the human resource, marketing, CRM, excel, and teamwork skills I have gained with my education and on the job training.- Participating in local art shows, performing art commissions and selling my art online - Managing the social media and content creation for a local vineyard and tasting room (Tehachapi Wine and Cattle Company) while working as a server. This job allows me to use my creative side and apply the marketing aspect of my education. Here, I have learned that I have a passion for copywriting and wine! - I have a unique skillset that I do not get to use much anymore- a vast knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures. This is where I believe I will have an advantage for medical copywriting and marketing. I love how my interesting combination of career and life skills have shaped me! Do you have a similar story?
