I was brought in to help alleviate the editorial staff on normal content, help produce a new publication magazine and author content for special events and inserts.

Prepare, rewrite and edit copy to improve readability; read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Plan the contents of publications according to the publication's style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements. Also, verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.

Coordinate sports page for three newspapers with the hub being The Pittsburg Gazette. write sports stories pertaining to local high school sports, community college sporting events, and other athletic events. Also, cover general news that is pertinent to the local community such as: crime beat, school board, main street activities, City of Pittsburg activities and others. Utilize tools of the newspaper business such as: InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite among others.
