About Cory Kos
With over 20 years of professional experience in the nuclear industry and uranium mining space, I have had extensive exposure to various aspects of the industry, developing a multifaceted understanding of the nuclear energy and mining sectors, and of complex, heavily regulated business environments in general.I have pursued new, challenging roles within the nuclear fuel cycle at every opportunity. That pursuit has led to a diversified career that encompasses a rare mix of expertise, from exploration geology and project management, to corporate strategy and investor relations, with stops in enterprise risk management and insurance along the way. With each role, I have built strong relationships and networks, refined my business acumen, and broadened my expertise at the project, company, and industry levels. I value outside-the-box thinking and champion change for the sake of improvement within the teams I lead, and I strive to enable cooperation across functions to drive enterprise-wide success. At the end of 2022, I completed a four-year contract with Kazatomprom JSC, the National Atomic Company of Kazakhstan and the world’s leading uranium producer, under which I moved to Astana to establish and lead a new investor relations function following the Company's successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange - a first under the Kazakh government's state privatization program. Upon returning to North America in 2023, I took an opportunity within the finance team at Cameco Corporation, and was appointed Vice President of Investor Relations on July 1, 2024. With a transferable corporate skill set and proven ability to quickly attain the expertise and knowledge required to successfully add value at any company and across sectors, I am focused on senior-level management positions in mining operations and marketing, corporate strategy, M&A, investor relations, and enterprise risk.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Mineral Exploration, Geology, Geophysics, and 46 others.

Director Of Investor Relations
International Adviser, Investor Relations
Director, Investor And Public Relations
Leading the activities of the Investor Relations and Public Relations teams at Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer. As one of only two expats in the company, I am to establish industry-leading, consistent practices and processes for messaging, public disclosure and financial reporting, buy-side and sell-side investment community interaction, international and local media relations, and reputation management, all within a >25-year-old company that has not previously interacted with the international capital markets (IPO in 2018).This role has a particular emphasis on consitent messaging, disclosure and capital markets training across the organization, knowledge transfer, and effective coaching, in order to grow local in-country expertise (for this privatization and for others that are planned), and get employees more engaged with what it means to be publicly traded. As a company spokesperson, I am ultimately focused on enhancing credibility and building a solid corporate brand among stakeholders through effective strategic communications, ensuring Kazatomprom’s securities are fairly valued...and doing so while retaining accountability for teaching others in various corporate functions across the company, how to do the same.
Directorate Head, Investor Relations
I am leading the Investor Relations Directorate at Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer, as the company transitions post-IPO from 100% Kazakh state-ownership, to a partial float of publicly traded shares on the newly created Astana International Stock Exchange (AIX), with global depository receipts trading on the London Stock Exchange. As one of only three expats in the company (IR, Marketing and Strategy, HR), my purpose is to establish industry-leading, consistent practices and processes for public disclosure and financial reporting, buy-side and sell-side investment community interaction, and reputation management, all within a >25-year-old company that has not previously interacted with the international capital markets. IR acts as an information conduit to facilitate effective two-way communication between Kazatomprom’s management and board, and their various constituents. However, unique to this role at a company like Kazatomprom, I must also retain a focus on disclosure and capital markets training across the organization, knowledge transfer, and effective coaching, in order to grow local in-country expertise (for this privatization and for others that are planned). As a company spokesperson, I am ultimately focused on enhancing credibility and building a solid corporate brand within the investment community, ensuring Kazatomprom’s securities are fairly valued - but I am doing so while retaining accountability for teaching others in various corporate functions across the company, how to do the same.

The position saw frequent operational/functional management, senior management, and board of directors interaction, with updates of significant strategic risks reported across the company on a monthly basis. In addition to monitoring corporate risk, I communicated the corporate and industry stories while working with underwriters from the largest insurance companies across the globe, building a complete insurance program (property, liability, D&O, etc) of over a billion dollars in coverage for operations and assets in Canada, US, and Kazakhstan.
Manager Of Disclosure, Investor Relations
My job was to act as an information conduit and facilitate effective two-way communication between the company (C-Suite), the financial community, and other constituencies. As an authorized company spokesperson, I was ultimately focused on building the Cameco brand within the investment community to ensure Cameco securities were fairly valued. My responsibilities included:- communication of the company and industry stories to new and existing institutional and retail shareholders- compiling, writing and distributing quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) documents and annual company reports, for filing with US and Canadian market regulators- ensuring all personnel speaking externally were in compliance with the corporate disclosure record, in accordance with the corporate disclosure policy- providing regular market intelligence to the executive team along with insight into institutional shareholder composition and perceptions- responding to shareholder inquiries and concerns- overseeing most aspects of annual shareholder meetings- arranging and attending investor conferences and meetings between investors and the executive team- overseeing constant updates to the investor relations section of the company website- monitoring all sector and industry news to establish and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base
