I advise broadband communication providers, cable operators and multichannel video programming providers on the broad array of federal and state regulations impacting their businesses. I regularly represent such companies in proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), state public utility commissions (PUCs), and federal and state courts. I also regularly counsel cable operators in their often contentious relationships with broadcasters, including navigating broadcaster must-carry rights, negotiating retransmission consent and other carriage agreements, and responding to carriage and channel placement complaints. I also frequently negotiate programming, content acquisition, franchise, pole attachment and rights-of-way agreements with utilities and local governments. I also represent a wide array of communications entities, including programmers, broadcasters, wireless companies and Internet service providers on regulatory issues. I counsel in the evolving area of net neutrality compliance and best practices, and have drafted over a dozen net neutrality and acceptable use policies for cable operators and wireless providers. I also assist communications entities negotiating complex IT, cloud services, co-marketing and equipment procurement contracts.In December 2014, after 19 years at Fleischman/Edwards Wildman, I moved across town to Mintz Levin and its diverse communication practice group.
