My name is Crystal Dodd. I am an interior designer with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. My design interests include residential design, kitchen and baths, and architectural lighting, as well as urban development and revitalization, and incorporating technology and sustainability in design. I appreciate design that makes bold, innovative statements.I believe in the interdisciplinary nature of design, in the collaboration of design professionals along with the client to create design excellence. I also believe it is important to design to harmoniously blend the needs of humanity, nature, and technology to create the spaces we inhabit and live our lives. Science, research based design, technology, human factors, sustainability and nature, aesthetics and beauty, form and function, all of these components are important to consider in good design.I am a creative and enthusiastic designer well versed in design and planning principles as well as documenting design concepts. Passionate about all areas of design, I am motivated and always continuing to learn. I have a passion for continued studying of interior design and current trends. I have interests in architecture, landscape, lighting, science and physics, photography, graphic design, art and crafts and many more artistic endeavors. In my spare time I dabble in the crochet and fiber arts.In college, I traveled across Europe studying architecture and interior design, and since then have not been able to shake this growing passion for architectural design.Receiving my Bachelors of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institute of California – San Diego. I am currently planning to pursue my Masters in Interior Architecture at UCLA, and intend on taking the NCIDQ exam. Then plan in the near future I would like to pursue a Masters in Architecture and Urban Development. I have 5 years experience with 3 years experience in lighting design, and 2 years in interior design.
