Dang-Deukhuri, Nepal

Designed a mixed-methods research and developed a survey on waste disposal practices and plastic usage in Nepal for the Himalayan Climate Initiative (HCI). Administered the survey in Nepali, with the help of local interpreters, to a total of 148 households in Dang-Deukhuri in January 2017. Led three sub-teams during the conduct of the field survey and conducted a key informant interview. Analyzed qualitative data using Dedoose and made recommendations to HCI to inform their programming.

Impact Assessment Team, Decision and Policy Analysis (DAPA) Unit, Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT)Reviewed agricultural impact assessment studies conducted and participated in by CIAT to extract impact indicators for the meta-analysis of the impact of CIAT’s research. Performed data cleaning and analysis using STATA to characterize the studies that CIAT has done. Co-authored a research report on trends and gaps in CIAT's contribution to impact studies on tropical agriculture (1967-2017).

As a member of the Policy Research Division, conducted policy research on micro, small, and medium enterprise development to support position papers, speeches, and presentations delivered by DTI officials. Prepared Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) project briefs, background papers, and project proposals. Served as rapporteur for inter-agency coordination meetings of the Philippine MSME Development Council and for the DTI delegation to APEC meetings in the Philippines. Conducted end-of-program RuMEPP activities, including monitoring progress of provincial and regional stakeholders and providing inputs to the Project Completion Report. Conducted four regional stakeholder workshops, two regional consultation workshops, and one national validation workshop in five provinces in the Philippines for the Project Completion Review Mission during the second and third quarters of 2014. Prepared the documentation reports and designed three briefs on program outcomes.

Led the development of a research proposal on the implications of land grabbing in Thailand and ASEAN, submitted to the Office of the Prime Minister. Wrote updates on political and security issues in Thailand for the website. Supported logistical preparations for the conduct of the Asia Foundation-funded seminar series on socioeconomic development in ASEAN. Proposed and wrote a policy paper on the Philippine poverty-environment nexus, "Filling Gaps: Re-establishing the Poverty-Disaster Risk Nexus in Urban Philippines."
