• Managed all R&D and production functions and scaled the production process six-fold.• Led and coordinated multiple BU teams to support the evolution of new products.• Identified the opportunities for expanding science and technology to new markets and diversified the development of ethylene sensors and lateral flow tests for the food industry.• Oversaw process development, analytical and bioanalytical methods development, and guided the establishment of SOPs to test currently marketed products.• Established short-range and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements, and succession plans; built a multidisciplinary team of 8 professionals.

Laboratory Director - Nanomaterials and Targeted Drug Delivery- Established and managed the Drug Delivery Laboratory, from recruiting and managing the research team to executing multidisciplinary scientific projects.- Prepared and secured eighteen competitive research grant awards totaling $2.7M from NIH, Bi-National Israel Science Foundation (BSF), W.W. Smith Foundation, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania CURE formula, Coulter Foundation, Stein Foundation.- Administered and managed all aspects of the sponsored research projects including compliance with agency regulations and cost accounting standards, adherence to established timelines and deadlines, expenditure management using enterprise systems; staff recruitment and resource allocation, progress report completion and equipment procurement. - Managed the research team of 4-5 members a year, fostering motivation and creativity which improved performance, cultivated problem-solving, and promoted critical thinking.- Formed collaborations with local, national, and international partners to expand the scope of laboratory projects and obtain additional funding.

Targeted small molecule/nucleic acid/cell delivery, biomaterials, tissue engineering, medical devices, biological sensors, and nanofabrication

- Created objectives and scope for projects focusing on targeted delivery of small molecules, gene therapy, and cell therapy.- Designed and implemented a proof-of-concept study demonstrating feasibility of magnetic cell delivery to stented arteries as innovative strategy for vascular disease.- Co-invented and co-authored several granted patents, high impact factor publications (including PNAS), and research grants.
