My name is Curtis Schofield. I am experienced and passionate.My first professional work was in 2000 working on Telenium’s Unix port of a telephone switching equipment database in C++/FORTRAN developed by Megasys.After that I spent 5 years contributing to graduate level research, then became an architect at a multi-national company before moving into early stage start-up companies. After 6 years of startups I became a principle consultant at a mobile strategy design and production company after which I joined LindenLab for 3 years - developing new marketplace and experimenting with webgl and VR products. I ended up joining Indiegogo at the recommendation of my previous colleagues and after a year of diligence and impact I was promoted to principle engineer on the platform and payments team.In 2019 I became a grateful Staff Engineer for Pagerduty and am currently working in the Shared Foundation and Strategic Integrations group.As of 2022 much of my responsibility involves mentoring, risk mitigation, system design and review, product feasibility and co-ordination of multi-team initiatives. I am passionate about functional programming and currently work in the Erlang/Elixir ecosystem. I have previously developed adept skill in Java, C, JavaScript, and Ruby. I have also worked with FORTRAN, C++, Clojure, C#, and Objective C at an intermediate to advanced level. I have experimented and explored early versions of Rust and Elm and Racket(scheme).My hobbies include motorsports, mechanics, sewing, Japanese language, and cooking.Hurray for Life Long Learning!
