The Desk Assistant position is vital to the on campus living experience. The Desk Assistant within Housing & Residence Life fosters relationships between peers, prospective UF students and families, and builds community among residents.- Provide information on campus resources and assist with resolving questions and concerns from current residential students, UF community members, and prospective UF students and families.- Create a welcoming environment for all students, families, and visitors by being friendly, courteous, and engaging.- Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and emails, logging and delivering all packages and special mail sent to housing residents, assisting walk in traffic for the residential office, providing assistance to the area staff.- Communicate with supervisor and other Housing & Residence Life team members to ensure a smooth transfer of duties and information.- Maintain and update area desk records and materials.

The Heavener Leadership Challenge (H.L.C) is a 10-week leadership program that empowers Warrington College of Business students who are driven to develop their leadership skills. - Identified, understood, and capitalized on the five practices of Exemplary Leadership listed in The Student Leadership Challenge by Jim Kousez and Barry Posner: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. - Participated in weekly activities and reflections that focused on leading internally and externally.- Communicated in program discussions and small group discussions to foster relationships and understanding with one another

- Selected out of a competitive application cycle to become part of a 32 size class of LDI. - Attended six cultural events per semester in order to foster and maintain connections across a diverse array of cultures on campus. - Honed leadership skills within terms of career readiness, business skills, and ability to foster connections as well as the development of interpersonal intelligence.- Collaborated with Marketing team members to create, execute, and deliver promotional materials for the events programmed by LDI.

- Selected out of a competitive pool of applications, with a 40% acceptance rate, to participate as a Level One Participant.- Completed Level-One curriculum, including participation in community service projects by personal selling and donation collecting for local non-profit Peaceful Paths. Resulting in a $100 donation to the organization.
