With over 25 years of experience in the mental health & addictions field, I am an effective and passionate psychotherapist with a private practice in Northern Westchester, NY and Danbury, CT . Services include OASAS approved screening and assessment, individual, family, and group counseling. I specialize in using an integrative wellness approach to help adults successfully manage and move beyond stress and anxiety; recover from depression, including psychotic, bipolar, and leftover depression after trauma healing;sustain long-term recovery from substance abuse, and gain greater satisfaction in relationships – at work and at home. My practice is rooted in my belief in the mind-body-spirit connection and in our innate drive towards balance and well-being.For those wishing to mobilize the mind-body connection, I utilize breathwork, visualization & relaxation, and moving meditation methods to educate and enrich the spirit while providing ways to quickly offer support. These techniques augment the work done in the therapy. In this manner, a way of life aligned with holistic health is introduced. They may be learned during individual sessions and/or in groups offered throughout the year (e.g., Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention).Specialties: * Addiction, particularly Alcohol & Drug use, including prescription medication* Chronic Mood, Anxiety and Psychotic Disorders * Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (for Co-occurring Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorders)* Motivational Interviewing* Mindulness* Mind-Body Healing Practices
