In 2019 I founded my blog site, 'Root Less Travelled' with the sole purpose of enhancing the way people look at themselves and the decisions they make on a daily basis. When I started taking a deeper interest in behavioural psychology, I started becoming more curious about the extensive motives behind people's everyday actions. I started writing articles that challenge the normal responses people have in society. The purpose of this site has thus developed into creating a space where I use behavioural psychology theories to help people understand that there is a deeper reasoning behind their decisions. Each member of our residence's leadership committee is allocated several portfolios of which they are held accountable. In addition to being the committee's Secretary, I am responsible for the organisation of the annual House Dance, the allocation of residents' rooms, and the allocation of parking.To further elaborate, the Secretary manages all the communication between the residents, the guardians of the residents, the House Committee, and our residence's 'House Mother'. The Secretary is responsible for communicating when events are taking place and the details surrounding the arrangements of these events. During committee meetings, the Secretary is responsible for conducting the meetings and thoroughly recording the information that is discussed, usually related to upcoming events and current residence matters.

My role as a mentor for my university residence, Nemesia Ladies’ Residence, gave me the opportunity to not only physically guide the first year students that entered our residence around campus, but also walk a path with them, being the emotional support they need while they were busy transitioning into a new and exciting phase of their lives. Before the arrival of the first years, the mentors had first year residents allocated to them, but as time progressed, I become an emotional support to many other first years. Even though Covid-19 did not allow for much in-person interaction, many virtual platforms allowed us to stay in contact with each other and continue to support each other.

My role included being the vital link between approximately 100 first-year residents and the House Committee members. My portfolio involved organizing the annual 'First Years Dance'. This included the coordination of the event's music, catering, venue, ticket sales, the ticket design, and ultimately the budgeting of the event was my responsibility.

The role of the committee is to successfully coordinate our residence's annual House Dance.My role in the event was to design the tickets as well as several other graphic designs needed for the event. On the day of the event my responsibility, as well as that of the rest of my team, was to organize seating and table layouts, assist with the final placements of the decorations and ensure that caterers were tended to.
