Michael is currently employed with the Portland-based firm of Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects. He is managing the design process for multi-family and senior housing projects with the Miyahira team. He leads a team of highly skilled professionals on mid to high-rise developments in OR, CA, and WA.Michael worked with LRS Architects for more than 16 years. During that tenure, he managed a wide variety of projects, specializing in mixed-use, civic, and commercial office design. He is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction. He has served as LEED AP on several certified projects, including the Hillsboro Civic Center, the first City Hall in America to achieve a Gold certification. Michael uses his experience to solve complex building problems that incorporate award-winning design and sustainable strategies to meet the demand of the growing Pacific NW. He is challenged by the work of providing affordable housing in a world that addresses the negative effects of global climate change.As a volunteer, Michael served on the Lloyd District Community Association's Board of Directors for more than eight years. His passion for strong communities with walkable streets and a host of transportation options, meshes well with the mission of the Lloyd Eco District. Leading the Land-Use committee, Michael was elevated to Board Chairman in 2014 where he served for one year. He has now retired from the board, but remains associated with Lloyd District and the exciting developments there.
