I earned a degree in Economics from FSU in 2018 and went to work in banking that Fall. I enjoyed life in the branch, but, after the constant learning of college, week-to-week monotony left something to be desired. I began looking for another path. Having encountered programming in Econometrics classes, I knew that I enjoyed it. So, I began learning in my spare time and, after two years at Summit Bank, I enrolled in a Full Stack Development Immersive at General Assembly, where I learned practical and industry-standard skills. In the Spring of 2021, after a nerve wracking leap-of-faith that I’d only afforded by selling my car, I was hired by BASX Solutions as a Frontend Developer. I’m now in my fourth year as a Developer and, though some things have changed (I’m a Full Stack Developer now and BASX is now AAON), I couldn’t be happier with how things have turned out.
