About Dale Lopez

As the Director of Professional Practice Prep-12 at Redlands College, I am responsible for leading the provision of ongoing development and formation for teaching staff, to support their enhancement of professional practice, and to appropriately recognise their skills and ability across P-12 within the context of the College’s philosophy, vision, and mission. To motivate, engage, and influence staff to improve performance and support the work of teachers. I support quality pedagogical practice via coaching, mentoring and leading teachers to be highly skilled classroom practitioners. This includes working as a member of the Educational Leadership Team to support professional renewal. This role facilitates consistency in the approaches and quality of teaching and student learning. This is achieved through the enhancement of existing programs, processes and structures of learning and pedagogy and providing opportunity for new initiatives.

I am recognised as an Apple Distinguished Educator and have also completed a Masters of Education (Technology Education) at QUT. Prior to my current role I was the Director of Learning P-5/Professional Practice Coordinator P-12, Teaching and Learning Coach, the Learning Innovation Coordinator Prep-12 and Dean of Technologies 6-12. Preceding these roles I was the ICT in Learning Coordinator Prep-12 and a Primary School Teacher with Technology and Science Coordinator responsibilities.I am also a Sessional Academic at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) having tutored first, third-year and post-graduate EC, primary and secondary students (BEd/MEd) in supporting innovative pedagogy with digital technologies and digital fluency for stem learning. (CRB013, EUB101, EUN101, EUN632). Through these roles I am able to inspire and create opportunities for innovative teaching and learning with a focus on designing, researching and the actualisation of technology-enhanced experiences that transform and redefine education, teaching and learning.I am passionate about professional practice, building teacher capability and growth and teaching and learning pedagogues; and their intersections with digital technologies, supporting the development of fluency in utilising these technologies to compliment, as well as enhance and transform classroom teaching and learning. Dale Lopez.
