1. With over five years of experience in public relations, business and organization development, and project management, I am passionate about empowering women and communities through media, education, and leadership. As a Census Media Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, I supported the agency's mission to promote innovation and competitiveness, and create jobs and economic growth in distressed regions. I leveraged my skills in communication, media studies, and social networking to create and implement effective outreach strategies, engage with diverse stakeholders, and raise awareness of the Census and its impact on economic development. In addition to my former role at the U.S. Department of Commerce, I currently serve as the FemCity Brownsville President, a members-only club for women launching and growing businesses. Since December 2017, I have been infusing gratitude, purpose, collaboration, and soul through our collective gatherings, inspiring workshops, and business support services. I am an expert in business growth, economic development, community outreach, grant writing, and event planning, and I use these competencies to foster a positive and supportive environment for women entrepreneurs in the Brownsville area. I am also a Rotary Leadership Institute Certified Faculty, a Master Gardener, and a recipient of the Estrella de Tejas Award for advocating for women in the community.
