After a solid upbringing in audit and commercial finance in large companies, I became Finance Director at Heat Trace in November 2006 and was appointed Managing Director in January 2013. I enjoyed raising the profile of the company, promoting customer service, introducing a multi-award winning apprenticeship scheme and working with a tremendous group of talented colleagues.Heat Trace were honoured to achieve the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2014 and be listed in the top 100 apprenticeship employers in 2016. I'm proud to have contributed significantly to the most successful period in the company's 50-year history.I resigned from the Heat Trace board in 2019 in order to establish Berrisford Advisory Limited through which I enjoy a portfolio career, providing advice to a number of company boards on strategic, commercial, accounting and legal matters. Education has always been a sector that I highly value and from January 2023 to March 2024 I was delighted to act as part-time CFO at North West Academies Trust, a multi-academy Trust overseeing 11 schools. I also volunteer as a school governor at a Weaverham High School in Cheshire.
